Too Close

$225.00

My first thought when I exited the float plane in Lake Clark National Park, Alaska and saw the bear’s tracks is that “I am not at the top of the food chain anymore.” The size of the brown bears was not lost on me, but when the guide asked, “do you want to get closer,” the answer was an obligatory “yes.” And when the guide instructed me to lay down in front of the bear, so the bear won’t think we are challenging his dominance, I listened though my heart pounded rapidly. Taking a break from feeding on sedge grass, this Brown Bear rested and was no doubt wondering “what are these two humans doing right in front of me…and are they tastier than sedge grass?”

12”x18” color print with 2” black matting, black metal frame, and non-glare acrylic. Total approximate dimensions of finished framed print are 16”x22”.
