Eastern Bluebird
Early in Spring a pair of Eastern Bluebirds competed for a nesting box with a pair of Barn Swallows at a Heller Nature Center in Highland Park, Illinois. I noticed one of the Eastern Bluebirds kept landing on a certain perch and positioned myself close by. After some time, I was able to capture this image of him looking toward the nesting box. When I checked back days later, I discovered that the Eastern Bluebirds had, in fact, won the rights to the nesting box.
